💡 مفاتيح الحصة (أهم 3 أفكار وزارية):
- Wh- Questions to Reported Speech: When reporting a Wh- question with a past reporting verb (e.g. asked), keep the question word (where, what, why, when), change the word order to statement order (Subject + Verb), and shift the verb back one tense.
- Tense Shift: With a past reporting verb, present simple shifts to past simple (do/does are deleted), and present continuous shifts to past continuous: 'Where do you live?' → He asked me where I lived.
- Pronoun Adjustments: Adjust personal pronouns and possessives according to the speaker and the listener (you → I/he/she, your → my/his/her).
⚠️ فخ الوزارة (انتبه لا تخطئ هنا):
Do NOT use inversion (auxiliary before subject) in reported questions! Say 'He asked where I was going', NEVER 'He asked where was I going'!

In these exam examples, assume a past reporting context and apply the normal backshift. In general usage, backshift and changes of time or place depend on whether the information and context are still current.
